Your Reasonable Service

When Paul wrote to the Romans about their "reasonable service" I think it's safe to assume that he was not talking about Sunday morning at 11:00AM.

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."  (Romans 12:1)

Paul was talking about something much bigger than what we do around the world on Sunday mornings....

Certainly, our Sunday gatherings are an essential part of our service to God - the fellowship, corporate prayer corporate worship, and strategic oversight is valuable for the Body of Christ - but what if our Sunday gatherings became the least critical part of our Christian service, rather than the most?

I'm not saying we shouldn't gather in this way.  We should!  It's a beautiful thing!

But what if the rest of our lives were so full of His Presence and service to God that our Sunday mornings were a living celebration of His life in and through us the other 6 days.

When I read the New Testament, the really cool things (with  the exception of the Day of Pentecost) happened outside the corporate gatherings.  Our lives can be that way!

Let's be holy and acceptable to God - and not just on Sunday mornings.

Q4U:  What difference do you think it would make if our lives OUT of church defined our faith more than our lives IN church?
